There is a story about the origins of painting: the daughter of a potter, using candlelight, traced the profile of a man who was about to depart onto a wall. Once the shadow was drawn, it naturally became an image. In the 18th century, it was widely believed in Europe that silhouettes could reveal everything about a person. This piece is based on these two stories, transforming the original silhouette, which was presented as an image, into a physical form made of ceramic. However, it did not fulfill the intention of becoming a "vase" and remains a "flat" ceramic panel. Using a specific lamp, its shadow is projected onto the wall, presenting the silhouette of Rubin's vase in a visual experience.
